November 2014 saw BCB, for the third year running, provide pre-ceremony music and ingoing and outgoing ceremonial music at this year's Graduation Ceremony.
For this event the band were under the direction of Ian McElligott, and over 4 days the band played to 5,700 graduates and 8,000 attendees.
The music was of a light entertainment nature and many of the students were dancing along to pieces such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Copa Cabana and Pharrell Williams' Happy. The band were in fine form and Ian made sure we were on top of our performance with good direction over the four days.
The entrance of the dignitaries, including the university board and the mayoral parties, follows a certain tradition and the band were required to play Grand March from Aida, March in Scipio, Cortege from Mlada, March of the Bowmen, Overture to The Thievish Magpie, plus of course the National Anthem.
Many favourable comments were received and the band are looking forward to performing again next year.
