About

History

Bournemouth Concert Brass (BCB) is a brass band with a local history going back over 100 years. We have been known in the past as "Boscombe Silver" and "Boscombe Temperance", and became Bournemouth Concert Brass in 1975.

Players

Our players are amateur musicians, who freely give us their time and talent. They are aged between 15-85, and come from far and wide, from Brighton to Weymouth.

Music

The band has an extensive repertoire of music which includes traditional marches and hymn tune arrangements, music from the classical world, film, show and pop music arrangements and a collection of fine instrumental solo arrangements to allow our principal players to shine.

Rehearsals

The band rehearses on Monday evenings (Wednesdays on Bank Holiday weeks) from 8-10pm, at East Cliff URC, Holdenhurst Road, BH8 8AW, opposite Bournemouth Railway Station.

Contests

We take part in the Regional Championships in Torquay in the First Section every March, and at least one other contest.

Social Events

The band are a friendly and social group, who visit the local pub after rehearsals and concerts, and aim to meet for a social event each month.
