Rachel Bartlett - Flugel Horn

Rachel Bartlett - FlugelRachel began playing the cornet at the age of 10, being taught by Winston Leese before moving to Oakmead School where she was taught by Colin Courtenay and then Ian Alexander. Rachel played flugel in the school band before moving to principal cornet at the age of 14 at the same time joining Ringwood and Burley band. One year later at the age of 15 she was appointed principal cornet where she gained valuable experience playing and contesting in the third section. In 2005 Rachel was playing with BCB when they won the West of England Regionals and went on the same year to compete in the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall. Leaving the band to start a family Rachel rejoined the band on flugel in 2009. She is married to Lloyd, the bands Solo Trombone player and they have two children, Jake and Oliver. Rachel is employed locally with Nationwide Building Society
